It was a spur of the moment event, but what a success! Russel Brunson may be getting older, but its clear he has a lot of friends. Not only has his Birthday bash brought out a ton of gifts, perhaps the largest of the year, it’s brought a lot of traffic as well.
My personal list has added about 30 new names in each of the first two days and today’s preliminary totals look as strong. Now that might not seem like a lot, but if it keeps up at this rate I will be close to 200 for a week. I bought the one time offer and upgraded for $17. That works out to 8.5 cents per new name on my list.
Now I don’t buy the $1 per month per list member some folk pass on as gospel in the community as the potential sales value of a list, but let me assure you eight and a half cents is a price I am more than willing to pay.
There are giveaways and there are giveaways. I subscribe and participate in a number of different sponsor’s events. They tend to draw the same promoters and thus the same people event after event. And they keep producing for me, so I keep doing them.
This event is different because Russell doesn’t normally do them. Since Jason James recent product launch which was aimed at niche giveaways, the number of new giveaways has exploded.
I will continue to try to report as many of these as I can here.
If you are serious about list building (and you should be,) you will want to join as many as you can. But the bottom line of this post is, keep an eye out for events like Russells, where a non traditional leader is involved. These are clearly worth popping for the upgrade, assuming it’s reasonable.
If you haven’t visited Russell Giveaway yet do so. Not only are their different people promoting it, there are a lot of different gifts that aren’t on everyone else’s events. Heck I’ve got a new one of my own out there.

It’s interesting to see other big “guru” marketers starting giveaways, as you don’t see that much. I think Jason James did a great job with his Giveaway Riches product showing how powerful giveaways can be.

Glad to hear it is working for you. Hesitated on that one because usually the really big ones don’t perform well for me. It is interesting to see some of the big names start doing these though.

Glad to see you doing so well with these giveaways. You have really come a long way on getting involved and can do some testimonials as to the effectiveness of them.

You’re spot-on, Earl!
I started running various JV giveaways shortly after Mark Hendricks pioneered the concept 4 or 5 years ago, and still run giveaways to this day.
What makes a giveaway worthwhile is the gifts – but you don’t see those til you’re inside, in most giveaways. But take a look at the partners who are donating gifts – if you don’t know any of them, there’s no way to gauge the event in advance. But when you see the big dogs involved, you know the gifts will be good – after all, they’ll never risk their hard-earned reputations by giving away garbage!
