A few day’s ago I wrote about Jason James new effort to take the giveaway concept thats worked so well for the internet marketing niche into other arneas. I am looking forward to his product which will be coming out in early February.
But I was blown away this morning when I learned of William Clement’s new System Giveaway. He has retooled the cookie cutter approach that has been the standard for so many recent GiveAways and I predict he will blow away the old model.
There is a school of thought that explains the rise of European states to world dominance in the 16th -20th centuries, that focuses on the war like nature of the varied nation states. The theory holds that competition between them lead to better and more armaments to the fight their incessant wars that they ultimately achieved technological superiority. The same is likely true online in the internet marketing niches.
People keep coming up with better ideas to improve on the old. Let’s hear it for creative competition, much better than wars, don’t you think.
Check out the System GiveAway, at http://askearlabout.com/Giveaways/SystemGiveaway.php
The first thing you will see is a slightly breathless Bill Clements touting the ten major improvements his new system offers over the traditional Giveaway. This isn’t a little tweak here and there, he is making some revolutionay changes that will make these events more accesible and I beleive more valuable for both contributors and those who download products.
For a start, when members come to the site, when it opens mid February, they won’t be staring at a OTO as soon as they log in. I am convinced many people I have referred to giveaways in the past have been confused and even pissed off by an offer to buy something when I told them they were going to a Free Giveaway. I gotta believe many of them just clicked away in disgust never having found the link to bypass the offer.
As a contributor and promoter of these events, I have been less than motivated by the typical JV Contest. I know my smallish sized list has no chance against the big guys. Now I understand that the conventional contest is intended to goad on the top producers to promote an event. I also understand that works to the advanatage of us littler guys who get a chance to share part of the big guys lists. But still it would be nice to have a chance to win. The System Giveaway offers a lottery, so that each new JV you sign up gets you an “entry” to win the big prize. The biggies still have an advantage, but this time I have a chance.
Time will tell, if that causes some of the biggies to not compete, but it sure should serve as a motivation for all the smaller guys to buy into the promotion.
They also have an innovative way to eliminate at least one of the squeeze pages in the system, which should eliminate some of the drop off that occurs with each hoop people have to jump through to participate.
I haven’t tested it out yet, but it sound promising.
Another big improvement is that they will be grouping gifts by category. This is an excellent idea for both contributor and member. It should help members to better select gifts they actually need and can use, and encourages contributors to compete categorically ourselves as our product will be side by side with other products in the category. This will raise the bar on the quality of offerings and reward contributors with a more targeted list.
Instead of members pigging out at the GiveAway smorgasbord grabbing a little of everything, I suspect it will result in more prudent sign-ups, and thus a more meaningful list. The quality will increase the participation, which should not only replace those lost to less gluttony, but with any luck at all result in even more list participants, and better ones at that.
As you can tell, I am taken by this new approach, time will tell if it works out as well as its promise. I am betting it does.
If you have a product you can offer, go for it. This is your chance to participate in the cutting edge of GiveAway marketing.
Till next time.

Be interested to see how it works. A lot may depend on how well they promote it. Not knowing the owner has kept me away from testing this as I am working on a few projects that have been keeping me busy.
Will be very interested in your results.

Earl,
Interesting concept. I will take a closer look at it.
In the past giveaways i received several sign ups for my free offer. But
nothing for my OTO. I like most everyone else, I think, just clicked on by
the OTOs. I did look at one or two.
I hope that the giveaways continue in some form. I did get sign ups for
my newsletter.
